ISTANBUL (AA) – Senegalese football star Sadio Mane moved to Bayern Munich after six seasons with Liverpool, the German side confirmed on Wednesday.

“I’m really happy to finally be at FC Bayern in Munich. We spoke a lot and I felt a big interest from this great club right from the beginning, so for me, there were no doubts,” Mane said in a statement.

“It’s the right time for this challenge. I want to achieve a lot with this club, in Europe too. During my time in Salzburg, I watched a lot of Bayern games – I really like this club!” he added.

Bayern stated that Mane has agreed on a three-year deal with the Bavarians until 30 June 2025.

Mane helped Liverpool to win one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup.

The 30-year-old also played a key role in the English club’s long-awaited Premier League title in 2020.

The left-winger made a total of 269 competitive appearances for the Reds, producing 120 goals and 48 assists.

Mane helped Senegal to win the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations title and was named African Footballer of the Year in 2019.

Also, Liverpool also expressed gratitude to Mane for his contribution to the club and wished him the best for his future career.
